How to Upgrade Your Genesis Stake With Omni’s Staking App
Omni has launched its first staking upgrade on Omni Core mainnet. The first phase of this upgrade focuses on our Genesis Stakers with a special APR boost campaign dedicated to honoring a community that has helped bootstrap the network’s security from the beginning.
What is the Omni Staking Upgrade?
Omni’s Genesis Staking program kicked off in mid-2024 to help secure the Omni Core mainnet on Ethereum L1. Now with our staking upgrade, Genesis Stakers have the opportunity to secure Omni Core directly on the Omni EVM with just one click through our new staking app.
This staking app is also the first app to be powered by Omni SolverNet. Genesis Stakers can now experience the fastest, most efficient way to move their staked OMNI from Ethereum L1 to the Omni EVM.
To show our appreciation for our Genesis Staker community, Omni is covering all gas fees for the migration — this means that Genesis Stakers can upgrade and stake for free.
How Do I Upgrade My Omni Genesis Stake?
To upgrade your Genesis Stake, head to our new Genesis Staking app and follow these steps:
- Check that your wallet is connected to the staking app.
- Click “Collect and Upgrade”
- A pop up with your staked OMNI and earned OMNI will appear. Check that the amounts for your staked OMNI and earned OMNI are correct. Make sure to read the note regarding withdrawals before checking the box and clicking “Upgrade”.
- Click “Sign” to complete the upgrade.
- A confirmation screen will appear when your upgrade is successful.
Why Should I Upgrade My Genesis Stake During the First Week?
In a previous blog post, we laid out details for the boosted yield rewards program available to Genesis Stakers during the first week of the upgrade. Genesis Stakers can earn up to 36% APR if they upgrade and stake their OMNI with our new staking app.
