Introducing Our Boosted Rewards Program for Omni Genesis Stakers
In just a few days, the first ever Omni Network staking upgrade will take place with a new Omni staking app. This upgrade will activate native staking on the Omni EVM and give all stakers the opportunity to earn rewards for securing the network.
The first phase of this upgrade is for Genesis Stakers only and will feature a week-long boosted rewards campaign to honor Omni's earliest community supporters. The second phase of this upgrade, which is slated to begin on March 31 at 00:00 UTC, will be open to all Omni stakers.
What is the Staking Upgrade?
Omni’s Genesis Staking program was launched in mid-2024 to bootstrap security for Omni Core mainnet on Ethereum L1. With the upcoming staking upgrade, Genesis Stakers will be able to secure Omni Core directly on the Omni EVM.
We’ve built a streamlined upgrade app that allows Genesis Stakers to upgrade their staked OMNI from Ethereum L1 to the Omni EVM in just one step. This is the first application powered by Omni SolverNet, ensuring the fastest and most efficient upgrade experience.
And to make it even easier, Omni will cover all gas fees — so upgrading your stake will be completely free!
Withdrawals will go live in May 2025 after the network's Drake upgrade.
Boosted Rewards Program for Genesis Stakers
As a thank you to our Genesis Staker community, we are introducing a boosted rewards program for Genesis Stakers who migrate their staked OMNI from Ethereum L1 to the Omni EVM. Native staking on the Omni EVM will launch with 11% APR for all users, but this boost program will give Genesis Stakers the opportunity to earn up to 36% APR for the next 12 months.
Genesis Stakers Boosted Reward Timeline
Beginning on March 24, 00:00 UTC, Genesis Stakers can upgrade their stake and receive yield boosts on top of the 11% base APR reward:
- If you upgrade between March 24, 00:00 UTC and March 25, 00:00 UTC: 25% boost (total 36% APR)
- If you upgrade between March 25, 00:00 UTC and March 26, 00:00 UTC: 20% boost (total 31% APR)
- If you upgrade between March 26, 00:00 UTC and March 27, 00:00 UTC: 15% boost (total 26% APR)
- If you upgrade between March 27, 00:00 UTC and March 28, 00:00 UTC: 10% boost (total 21% APR)
- If you upgrade between March 28, 00:00 UTC and March 29, 00:00 UTC: 5% boost (total 16% APR)
When Can I Claim My Omni Yield Boost Rewards?
The first distribution of these boosted rewards for Genesis Stakers will occur on September 24, 6 months after the March 24 launch date. Rewards will be claimable on the Omni EVM. To remain eligible for your boosted rewards, you must stay staked this entire time — if you withdraw your stake, you will forfeit your boosted rewards.
The second distribution for boosted rewards will occur on March 24, 2026, 12 months after the March 24 launch date and will follow the same rules — if you claim your rewards at the 6 month distribution mark and then unstake before the 12 month mark, you will forfeit your boosted rewards earned between months 6 and 12.
Extra Rewards for Genesis Stakers
One thousand Genesis Stakers who upgrade before the yield boost campaign closes on March 29, 00:00 UTC are eligible to earn their share of leftover ETHFI and ALT airdrops that were not claimed on Ethereum L1. Any Genesis staker who upgrades before May 1, 00:00 UTC will still be eligible for future partner airdrops that occur in 2025.
